Volunteering Brings Joy

Haven't posted in a few days.  This is what I've been doing...

Being the Box Top Coordinator is not a very recognized volunteer position.  However, it is my small part at helping raise money for my child's school.  This is my second year.  I told myself last year I wouldn't wait till the submission deadline to count them.  I didn't listen, obviously, because here I am scrambling to get them all counted.

Last year our elementary school made $591
from collecting Box Tops.

This money went a long way at helping our PTO reach our goals for the school.  Every person who clipped box tops made that $591 possible.  What a great program!

Ways you can earn cash for your school:

  1. Shop at Box Tops Marketplace - Sign into your account and shop away!  A portion of the money will be given to your school.  This gives your school what is called eBoxTops
  2. Box Tops Reading Room - Purchase books online through Barnes and Noble and the school earns 6%.
  3. Clipping Box Tops - Check your pantry for food items with the Box Top Label, clip and send to school.  Each is worth 10 Cents.  They add up fast!  Click here for a detailed list of products with Box Tops on them. {Please check the expiration date!}
The Box Tops for Education website is beautifully done and has a wealth of information, including coupons!  To find out more about how to get in touch with your school's Box Top Coordinator or how you can help, go to their website here.  I guarantee they will welcome your help.

I like sorting and counting while watching television or listening to music.  Sometimes my children enjoy helping me count.  This becomes productive quality time together with them.
 It is always a win-win situation when your children see you serving in the community.

What you DO speaks volumes to your children!
Plus, you can do it in the comfort of your own home. :)

What kind of volunteering do you enjoy doing?

Got to get back to counting,
Shan

  2. Don't feel guilty, you can begin now. Our deadlines are twice a year. As long as they aren't expired they will count. Fortunately their expiration dates are usually a few years out. I am enjoying your blog. Thanks for visiting mine as well. :)
